Foro is an electronic magazine of opinion on issues, in education, culture, economics, politics and current affairs, among others, related to development:
How can development be achieved? How can human welfare and social justice be achieved and sustained? These and other questions have been the concern of national and international institutions that have been conceived to address precisely these problems. Foro aims to bring these issues closer to the general public. Its purpose is to promote serious and informed discussion that will enable informed public opinion to be formed. In order to fulfil this purpose, Foro will strive to present a variety of views on the same subject and will therefore be open to all kinds of honest opinions.
We argue that democracy needs informed voters, citizens who are able to discern their true interests. We hope that Foro can contribute to the advancement of this capacity for understanding, for decisions to be guided by facts and reason rather than passion.
Foro is published by Desarrollo para la Ciencia y la Tecnología, C. A., a privately-held research and development company head-quartered in Maracay, Venezuela.
At Foro we strive to present clear ideas on important topics from well-informed individuals to experts and the community at large.
