Carlos A. Nobre is Co-Chair of the Science Panel for the Amazon (SPA) and a researcher at the Institute of Advanced Studies at the University of São Paulo (IEA/USP). He is also a foreign member of the US National Academy of Sciences and a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, the World Academy of Sciences, and The Royal Society.
